United States It beeps! I bought this electric kettle because my husband is very ill and using the microwave to heat my water was too noisy. Imagine my dismay when I used this kettle and all it does is beep all the time! Every push of the button to set the temperature, when you plug it in, when you replace the kettle. It is faster than my microwave. I have enjoyed heating a big mug of water for tea in just a few moments. The safety features are calming of any worry. It is great for hot water added box meals. While it says tea should be at 158 degrees F, you still want to boil your water because there may be contaminants inside of your water lines. You can wait until it cools down to room temperature, pour it into a mixing bowl and then whip it to dissolve some air in it (oxygen) and then heat back up to 158. A lot of work, but at least you will know you have potable water that is perfect for brewing tea. Bonsenkithcen EK8903 Electric Glass Kettle SG 08/13/2020 Steve G. Super high cost effective I make hot tea all day long. I am thrilled with this thing! Price was at least $12 cheaper than the other one I had been using which did not have colored lights or temp control.
